Victoria, one of the wonders of the modern world. A city that works. I like Victoria its fun.
When I visit Victoria, I feel welcome. Every one is smiling visitors and residence alike and why not even the buskers here are talented. The shops are funky; the cafes are a delight. The museums, theatres, library, schools and University of Victoria are world class.
Victoria draws visitors from around the world who enjoy and in turn support the underwater gardens. Marine world. Wax museum and special attractions like the world renounced butcher gardens. But Victoria’s special charm extends beyond the inspired architecture. The smiling faces, the shopping and the entertainment. Victoria is set among the seascapes and landscapes, mountains and forests that can take your breath away. Nature is never more than a bicycle ride away. There are parks, lakes, rivers and a trail that winds through the ancient forest to a swimming hole at the base of a waterfall.
Samoan still swan in the queer cold water of her creeks and whale still frequent her shores. If you like early spring, blossom line streets and a city where you can feel comfortable taking your children down town at mid night you too may become one of Victoria’s smiling faces.
