It is tough if you have too much in your suitcase, even tougher if you have wrong things in it.
So tip number one for holiday travel season is to check the TSA for their items list with www.fly2houston.com or www.tsa.gov. Remember most gels and liquids can no longer be taken to the TSA security check point unless you follow the 311 program. TSA logo right now is 311, that is 3 items or less for liquids or gels and one bag each for one person. This travel season, a bag labeled is the best way to say it has something special.
For those who forget, special demonstration tables with helpers have been set up and baggage are labeled. If it is possible try and pick up your ticket and boarding pass before you come to the airport. Plenty of assistance is available at the check in point but check in takes extra time. Travelers are not allowed beyond the TSA check point unless they can show the boarding pass and proper photo identification. It is best to keep your I.D. and boarding pass handy at all times. Speaking of getting through the security check point, remember to wear as little on legs as possible. Most jewelry goes through the censors. Remember, you must always remove your shoes, so wear something appropriate. Straps and lots of laces take extra time.
